Metro 2 account status code 05: account transferred
The lender no longer holds this account because it moved it to another office or sold it to another company. The old tradeline should stop updating, and any balance still owed should show up under the new holder. A payment rating goes with this status to record whether the account was current or behind when it left.
How it shows on your report
Usually reads "Transferred" or "Transferred to another lender," with a closed date. The old lender's balance typically shows as $0.
How it affects your score
Neutral on its own. Late payments reported before the transfer still count, and the new holder's tradeline carries its own history.
What to check
The old lender's tradeline should show a zero balance once the account moves. If the old and new holders both report the same balance, the debt is being counted twice. Check that the payment rating at transfer matches your records, because a late rating there can stay on your report for years.
