Metro 2 account status code DF: delete account (confirmed fraud)
An instruction to remove the entire account because the furnisher finished a fraud investigation and confirmed the account was opened or used fraudulently. It wipes the tradeline rather than marking it with a status. It's the fraud counterpart to DA, which deletes an account for any other reason, such as a reporting error.
How it shows on your report
You won't see the code. The account disappears from your report.
How it affects your score
Removes the account and everything on it from your file, so fraudulent balances and lates stop counting.
What to check
If a lender agreed an account was identity theft, it should disappear from all three bureaus, and one bureau deleting it isn't enough. A collection account built on the same fraudulent debt should go too. Keep the lender's written fraud finding in case the account or a related collection resurfaces.
