Metro 2 account status code 78: 60 to 89 days past due
The account is two payments behind: at least 60 but fewer than 90 days past the due date as of this update. It usually means a 30-day late went another month without being caught up, either because no payment was made or because each payment covered only the current month and never the one missed before it.
How it shows on your report
"60 days late" or "Past due 60," with a 60 in that month's box.
How it affects your score
Late payments are among the most damaging items in payment history. FICO looks at how late, how recent and how many, so each step further behind generally hurts more. No one can tell you an exact point drop.
What to check
A delinquency can only age about 30 days per month, so this status should follow a 30-day status in the month before, not a current month. Compare the amount past due to your missed payments: at this stage it should roughly equal two missed payments. If you paid within 30 days of the due date that month, the late shouldn't be there at all.
