Metro 2 account status code DA: delete account (not fraud)
An instruction rather than a status. The furnisher is telling the bureau to remove the entire account from your file for a reason other than fraud, typically because it was reported in error. Industry guidance discourages using it to erase accurate negative history: a paid collection, for example, should be reported as paid, not deleted.
How it shows on your report
You won't see the code. The account simply disappears from your report after the furnisher's update or a dispute response.
How it affects your score
Depends on what the account held. Removing an accurate negative item can help; removing an old account in good standing can shorten your history.
What to check
After a dispute result says an account was deleted, confirm it's gone at every bureau the lender reported to. If a deleted item comes back, the bureau has to get the furnisher's certification and notify you in writing within five business days of reinserting it.
