Metro 2 special comment code AZ: redeemed repossession
The lender repossessed the collateral, usually a vehicle, and you then redeemed it by paying what was required to get it back, such as the past-due amount or the full balance plus fees, depending on your contract and state law. The repossession still happened, but you recovered the property.
Sources describe this code with some variation. Public documentation doesn't agree on every detail of how special comment code AZ is used, so treat this as a general explanation. If it's on your report, the company that reported it can tell you exactly what it meant.
How it shows on your report
A remark like "Redeemed repossession."
How it affects your score
The repossession still counts as a serious negative, but the redemption shows you resolved it.
What to check
After you redeem the vehicle, the status should no longer show repossessed with a deficiency balance. Later months should reflect your actual payments, and the balance should account for what you paid to get the vehicle back.
